Mary Za

Born in New Mexico, shaped in California and Northern Virginia, Mary learned early that if you want it, you earn it, and she’s been doing exactly that since she first touched a soccer ball at five years old. A relentless competitor with elite club roots, she turned her Division I dreams into a nonnegotiable mission, rising to team captain, earning all-conference honors, and proving she belongs on every stage she steps onto. Ice in her veins and fire in her stride, she once came off the bench in a State Cup final to bury two goals and seal the championship, a preview of the clutch performer she’d become.

But her impact doesn’t stop at the final whistle. A leader, singer, and founder amplifying Black student-athlete voices, Mary plays for something bigger, empowering women through sport and building spaces where everyone belongs.
